Top Tips for visiting Europe as a Solo Traveller
To make sure you make the most of Europe as a solo traveller check out some of our handy tips listed below!
1) Pack light luggage
Many of the hotels we stay in on our group tours to Europe are in locally-owned hotels, some are even former Soviet buildings. Many may not have lifts so please bring a bag which is easy for you to carry up stairs and on public transport.
2) Don’t forget your bank card
Whilst much of Europe uses the euro, some of the smaller countries do not. Most places in Europe will have card machines so make sure to pack your bank card to get the right currency for the region you are visiting.
3) Go on a free walking tour
The best way to see a new city especially as a solo traveller, is on foot! There are so many free walking tours on our Europe tours and your Tour Leader will be able to help! Explore cobbled streets and learn about hidden secrets to share with your friends back home.
4) Look up
Europe has some of the best architecture in the world from Neo-Gothic buildings to huge castles like Bran’s Castle in Romania. Remember to look up so you don’t miss any spiral turrets or stain-glass cathedral windows!
