That’s where our flexible group tours come in. Tucan Travel welcomes solo travellers on all our departures, with approximately 60% of our customers travelling solo! Whether you are single, coupled up or usually travel with friends, solo travel is empowering and an excellent way to meet new people from around the world. If you have the urge to visit a certain destination but have no one to travel with, what do you do? Go! Tucan Travel do not charge a solo supplement on the majority of group tours, instead you will share a room with a group member of the same sex. Tucan Travel group tours are designed to balance included group activities and free time in each destination, so you can tick off the highlights while enjoying free time to unwind. Travelling solo on a group tour is the perfect way to enjoy the freedom of solo travel while never being truly alone. What’s more - if you want to know how many solos are booked onto a certain tour, just ask our reservations department!

What can I expect on a Tucan Travel tour?
As a traveller on one of our adventure tours you are on a journey with a group of new friends and an expert travel guide. There are some included activities on our tours, but you also have free time built into the trips to enjoy optional excursions, or find a quiet cafe and watch the world go by.

What is the group size of a Tucan Travel tour?
The group size of a tour depends on the destination and style of travel. The majority of our tours are small group tours and normally have 4-19 people with an average of 10. On occasion a tour may continue to operate below minimum numbers with only one or two people. Our Africa and Patagonia tours travelling on our overland trucks average at 18-20 with a maximum of 29 people. Your Adventure Specialist can also let you know the number of people who have booked onto your tour.

Is there an age limit on a Tucan Travel group tour?
No, as long as you are up for an adventure! Our Group Tours offer 18-65+ year olds the opportunity to travel the world as part of a group. If you have any preexisting conditions that may require extra support while on tour, it is important that you let us know in advance. We will require you to fill out a Tour Suitability form. Due to the fast pace of our tours, we may also request this if you are over the age of 65.

What accommodation will be available on a Tucan Travel tour?
Accommodation on our group tours is dependent on where you choose to travel to, however you will mostly stay in small locally-owned hotels, hostels and guesthouses.

How will I travel on a Tucan Travel tour?
We want you to make the most of your adventure, so whether you're on a European tour to an African safari adventure, we'll have you covered when it comes to transport. Transport on our group tours will vary depending on the destination, from local transport to our custom-built overland trucks. Some tours may include regional flights to get you from A to B. Can I book extra nights of accommodation in my arrival or departure city?

Most of our tours have the option to book pre or post accommodation so you can make the most of the destinations you are visiting. The following room types are commonly available.
Single - A room for one person.
Twin - A room share by two people with individual beds.
Double - A room with one large bed shared by two people.
