Day 1 - Arrive Rio de Janeiro
Your holiday starts here in Rio de Janeiro, one of the most visited cities in Brazil. You will be collected from the airport and transferred to your hotel in the city.
Famed for its golden beaches, vibrant culture and of course the alluring Christ the Redeemer statue, Rio de Janeiro offers travellers a unique insight into Brazilian city culture. After check in to your hotel, you are free to start exploring the city or relax and recharge after your flight.

Day 2 - Rio de Janeiro
After breakfast you will be collected from your hotel for a guided tour of the city. Enjoy a scenic drive along Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon where you will arrive to the bottom of the Corcovado Hill. Hopping on board the tourist train, you will ascend the mountain where the statue of Christ the Redeemer awaits. Located 2,300 ft above sea level, the statue is known as the Wonder of Rio and was recently elected one of the 7 New Wonders of the World. Upon arrival to the top of the mountain, you can use the panoramic elevators to arrive at the foot of the statue. From here is where you can experience some of the most incredible views of the city.
After some time to explore the area, you descend the mountain and go for a delicious Brazilian barbecue lunch. The rest of the afternoon is free to explore at your leisure.

Day 3 - Manaus – Gateway to the Amazon
You will be transferred to the airport to catch a flight to Manaus, your gateway for boarding a boat down the Amazon River. Spend the night in a hotel before your adventure down the Amazon River tomorrow.

Day 4 - Amazon River Boat Cruise
Waking early you will be taken to the pier in Manaus around 9am where you will embark the boat that you will be spending the next three nights on in the heart of the Amazon. Once on board you will receive an introductory briefing about the next few days and a background on some of the flora, fauna and wildlife you will witness.
Cruise down the waterways of the Amazon River before stopping to take your first excursion. Board a canoe and paddle across Lago January, a rich ecosystem which is abundant in foliage and nutrients and making the area the perfect home for various birds and other wildlife. You will witness the pink river dolphin, heron, macaw, parrots, jacamars and many other reptile and exotic plants.
Once you are back on board you can enjoy lunch while sailing to the famous Meeting of the Waters, where the black Rio Negro meets the clear waters of the Solimoes. The contrasting water can be seen for almost 9 miles and is spectacular to witness. You also have the chance to spot the gigantic pirarucu, the largest scaled fish in the world before having dinner and falling asleep to the sound of the jungle around you.

Day 5 - Amazon River Boat Cruise
Rise early to the sounds of nature and watch the sunrise over the Tupe Beach settlement before visiting the village here to witness the indigenous communities that call it home.
Once back on the boat you will enjoy lunch while sailing to Rio Aria?, a beautiful blackwater river surrounded by giant tree and dense vegetation. You have the opportunity to climb one of the trees using rope, getting up close and personal with the nature of the Amazon.
You will continue on to Lago Acajatuba where you will hopefully be able to see the iconic pink river dolphin up close, as well as admiring the floating houses where some of the locals live. Tonight you can enjoy a night canoe ride, in the search for caiman and other nocturnal jungle wildlife.

Day 6 - Amazon River Boat Cruise
On your third day in the Amazon you will take canoes and explore the many lagoons, creeks and river beaches within the Rio Negro. The Rio Negro is home to 100,000 acres of islands and canals and a further 260,000 acres of riverside forest, making it the perfect place to get under the skin of the Amazon. You then have the opportunity to try some piranha fishing.
After lunch back aboard the boat you will visit an Amazon farmhouse where the owner will explain his way of life living within the jungle. Learn about his ancestry, and the crops he raises in this remote location.
Following this you enjoy a two hour trek through the rainforest to learn about the flora and fauna. The boat then sails through the heart of the Anavilhanas National Park and after dinner you experience more nocturnal wildlife on a night time aquatic trail.

Day 7 - Manaus
Awake to the sounds of the jungle and enjoy breakfast before embarking on another wildlife viewing opportunity on an aquatic trail. Witness the various bird species soaring above and watch as monkeys jump from tree to tree.
You will then sail to Novo Airao, famous for its artisan workshops and crafts. You can enjoy a city tour and this will be your chance to pick up any souvenirs. After lunch at a beautiful floating restaurant you will be driven back to Manaus where the remainder of the evening is at your leisure.

Day 8 - Cuiaba
Today you are transferred to the airport and fly to Cuiab?, a lively city with beautiful colonial buildings and gateway to the Pantanal Wetlands. After being transferred to your hotel you will have one night here and some free time to relax before your three night excursion.

Day 9 - Northern Pantanal Wetlands
The Pantanal Wetlands offers supreme wildlife-spotting opportunities in the Americas. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, National Park and Biosphere Reserve all in one, the Pantanal is one of Brazil's best kept secrets and encompasses the world's largest tropical wetland area covering an incredible 70,000 square miles. The extreme biodiversity of the region means it is home to around 698 bird species, 100 mammals, almost 200 reptiles and over 250 fish species.
After check in to the lodge you are free to relax and soak up the surroundings. You will also be briefed about the activities for the coming days.

Day 10 - Northern Pantanal Wetlands
Today is dedicated to learning about the regions flora and fauna at the Araras Eco Lodge Reserve. After breakfast, your local guide will lead you on a 2 or 3 hour horse trek through the fields and flood lands. This is an eye opening experience to the beautiful landscapes that surround you.
After lunch, experience another side to the reserve on a guided hike. Learn further about the ecosystems and animals that call the Pantanal home.
This evening you are free to relax and reflect on the days activities at the lodge.

Day 11 - Northern Pantanal Wetlands
After breakfast we will depart for Clarinho River. Canoe along the water and explore the riverbanks, mangroves and forests, perhaps even spotting a family of giant otters playing and teaching their young to fish. Here you can also possibly spot the elusive piranha which are known to nibble off the bait from fishermans hooks.
There are various other freshwater fish to be found in these waters and it is sometimes possible to catch one or two for the barbeque. A picnic barbeque will be prepared at the camp before you return to the lodge in the late afternoon.

Day 12 - Nobres
This morning is an early start as you wake in time for sunrise from the top of Mirante de Garca. Hear the birds chirp and witness the sun touching down on the surrounding vegetation as the rainforest wakes for another day.
After breakfast it's time to disembark your houseboat and travel to Nobres where you will be staying in a lodge for the night. Nobres is Bonito's smaller sister ? it boasts beautiful clear waters that is perfect for snorkelling, but much less visited than Bonito. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch before heading out on a snorkelling trip in the afternoon. You will swim in the crystal-clear waters surrounded by freshwater fish. In the early evening you will be taken to Lagoa das Araras, a beautiful lake surrounded by tall trees where hundreds of different bird species are to be seen. Keep your eyes peeled for yellow-collared macaws, parakeets and other parrot species. Return to the lodge for dinner before enjoying a short walk on the premises to spot any nocturnal animals.

Day 15 - Puerto Iguazu
Starting around 8am you enjoy a half day tour of the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986, there are various walkways offering truly spectacular panoramic views. After the tour you will transfer to Puerto Iguazu where you have a free evening to relax.

Day 16 - Iguazu Falls & fly to Buenos Aires
Today you will be taken to Iguazu Falls National Park to see them from the Argentine side. Take the ecological train to the Lower Circuit where you will be rewarded with spectacular views. You will also visit the magnificent "Devil's Throat" where fourteen falls drop with such force that there is always a massive cloud of spray overhead.
After you tour you will be taken to the airport where you will catch a flight to the beautiful capital of Argentina – Buenos Aires.

Day 17 - Buenos Aires
Today you will join a group to discover the different barrios that make up the city on a panoramic tour. Once everyone has been collected, you will begin with a drive along 9 de Julio Avenue where you will find the renowned Colón Theatre, as well as the Obelisk which you will see rising high above the porteños below. You will also get a glimpse of the 10-story high portrait of Evita Peron which has been placed on the Health Ministry building as a tribute. The tour will then take you through the luxurious neighbourhood of Palermo, filled with beautiful buildings, all the way to Recoleta. Here, the incredible cemetrey of the same name is the final resting place of the city’s most famous residents with countless stunning mausoleums that range from Art Nouveau to neo-Gothic in style.
Your first stop of the day will be at Plaza de Mayo which is surrounded by historic buildings such as the Casa Rosada, the Cathedral and the City Hall. From here you will continue through the bohemian neighbourhood of San Telmo and on to the famous La Boca Juniors Football Stadium where there will be a stop and you can pay an optional visit inside if you wish.It is then time to make the short transfer to the colourful and iconic barrio of La Boca. This area retains a strong European flavour and you are likely to see Tango performances all around you as you stroll around. Next you will continue along the fashionable Avenida de Mayo and the dynamic Avenida Corrientes to the final stop and end of this trip which is Puerto Madero, a busy gastronomic and entertainment area with many restaurants and bars to choose from.
This evening you will head out to watch Argentina's most famous dance, the passionate and dramatic Tango. Folklore has it that it began in the bordellos of long-ago Buenos Aires as men waiting for their 'ladies' passed time by dancing amongst themselves. Today, tango shows are supremely entertaining with their grand feats of athleticism and you will witness these as you enjoy dinner.
